| Safeway's 'We Care' program provided $16,000 to fund new equipment for the CAGE program. | |
Safeway at Heritage selected the CAGE as their charity for the 2008 Safeway We Care Campaign. The partnership was set up by the parents of a CAGE participant. The fundraising began in February and wrapped up on March 31.
The campaign raised $16,062 all of which will be used to purchase of new equipment for the CAGE and summer programming.
Erin McGee and Sumita Kaura organised volunteers and staff during the campaign. Volunteers converged at Heritage Safeway on Saturdays to raise money by selling raffle tickets for a $1000 travel voucher from Uniglobe Travel, bagging groceries and selling coupon books. Safeway staff lent a helping hand in the promotion of the We Care Campaign and in selling the coupon books that made up the majority of the fundraising effort.
A tremendous ‘Thank You’ to volunteers, organizers and particularly Canada Safeway for their generosity!
